The Great Class of Dartmouth 1966

Class Dues

A Note from the Class Treasurer:

Bob Serenbetz Another year has passed…almost 61 years since we all came together on the Hanover Plain. And with the new school year comes the annual solicitation for our class dues and contribution to class projects.

Dues remain at $66 this year with an optional $34 towards class projects ($100 total). Class dues, even though they are tax deductible, are different from contributions to the Dartmouth College Fund. They are totally managed by the Class and enable us to continue our own programs and activities. As you know, your dues helped to provide a free 55th Reunion (excluding lodging and transportation) for both classmates and Dartmates. We will again set aside a portion of your dues to help defray the cost of our 60th Reunion in 2026.

Dues remain at $66 with an optional $34 towards class projects ($100 total). Class dues, even though they are tax deductible, are different from contributions to the Dartmouth College Fund. They are totally managed by our Class and enable us to continue our own programs and activities, including the funding for the majority of our reunion expenses. We have already reserved $13,000 for our 60th Reunion in 2026 and will set aside another $10,000 this fiscal year.

Our projects for 2023-24 include funds for a recruited athlete to visit the campus through the Athletic Sponsors Program and for memorial books provided to Baker Library in memory of our deceased classmates. Again this year, we will add $5,500 to the Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund, an endowment that provides financial aid to our Class of 1966 Scholar. A new project this year is support for the Pine Park Foundation, which oversees the trails, plantings, and other maintenance for the Park that was established north of the campus on part of the former Hanover Country Club. The current August-September newsletter, available on-line and in your mail shortly, describes the Park and its uses more thoroughly. Dues also finance our award-winning newsletters, website, $66 gift cards for hosts of 66th Night get-togethers, and help defray part of the costs of our Homecoming Mini-Reunion in October.

You can make your payment easily on-line at www.dartmouth66.org by clicking the “Class Dues” button on the left and following the instructions for PayPal/Credit Card payments on the lead page. This allows you to pay either by credit card or via a PayPal account. Or you can send a check, made out to “The Class of 1966”, to me at PO Box 1127, Newtown, PA 18940.

Last year we received dues payments from 304 classmates and widows. Our goal is to maintain that same number this year. Thanks for your continued support of the great Class of 1966. I look forward to seeing you in Hanover this October for Homecoming.

Sincerely,
Bob Serenbetz
Class Treasurer
